Hotelplan Group cancels package travel and holiday home bookings until 19.4.2020 and refunds customers
The Swiss travel group Hotelplan Group decided this morning to suspend its travel programme until 19 April 2020. New bookings will only be accepted for holidays commencing on or after 20 April 2020.
In light of circumstances that are changing by the hour, the group management of Hotelplan Group decided this morning to suspend the travel programme until and including the travel date of 19 April 2020. This means that already booked package holidays up to this date will be cancelled or rebooked free of charge. The same applies to already booked Interhome and Interchalet holiday apartments and holiday homes worldwide. For individual services, the cancellation and rebooking terms and conditions of the service provider apply, e.g. airline terms and conditions are relevant for flight-only arrangements.
"Due to the latest global developments, we have opted for what we consider to be the most customer-friendly approach and have decided to conduct disputes for compensation with our service providers and not with our customers. Although no directive in this matter has yet been issued, we are doing this to provide clarity for our customers in a confusing situation," says Hotelplan Group CEO Thomas Stirnimann.
