|Hotelplan was established in 1935 by Migros founder Gottlieb Duttweiler to enable families from simpler backgrounds to take vacations in Switzerland. Over the past decades, Hotelplan has developed into an international travel group – the Hotelplan Group. Today, around 1,900 employees work for the Hotelplan Group in six business units in Europe and around the world. The travel group is active in the areas of beach vacations, individual and round trips, the brokerage of vacation apartments and vacation homes, as well as in the business travel sector. Today, more than 85 years after its founding, the company is still wholly owned by the Federation of Migros Cooperatives, Switzerland's largest retail organization, headquartered in Zurich.|
Hotelplan Suisse is the largest Swiss tour operator and has approximately 650 employees. The branch network comprises a total of 82 branches in Switzerland. Hotelplan Suisse operates on the Swiss market with the four travel brands Travelhouse, Tourisme Pour Tous, Hotelplan and Migros Ferien.
vtours is one of the leading online tour operators in the German-speaking market and offers dynamically packaged package tours and city trips. The worldwide portfolio is complemented by hotel-only, flight-only and transfer-only offers at the holiday destination.
Hotelplan UK is active in the specialized niche business with a broad range of products. The winter business includes the Inghams, Esprit and Santa's Lapland brands. The individual hiking and cycling holidays of Inntravel and Explore Worldwide provide a balance in summer.
Interhome Group with the brands Interhome and Interchalet is specialized in the brokerage of holiday homes and apartements. The portfolio consists of around 40,000 accommodations in 27 countries. The closeness to the landlord and to the guests is one of the strengths of Interhome Group.
bta first travel is one of the two business travel specialists of Hotelplan Group and offers tailor-made services for SMEs as well as innovative technological solutions for all customer needs.
Another gloomy result despite strong summer business26. Januar 2022
The coronavirus pandemic again had a massive impact on the Hotelplan Group financial results. The virtually non-existent winter business meant that invoiced turnover at the Swiss travel concern fell by 15.3% to CHF 684.8 million compared to the previous year – despite some business units reporting a surge in bookings during the summer months.
Isabelle Zimmermann joins the Hotelplan Group Board of Directors12. Januar 2022
The Migros Group subsidiary Hotelplan Group has elected Isabelle Zimmermann to the Board of Directors. She succeeds Joerg Zulauf, who retired at the end of 2021.
Climate-neutral holidays in an Interhome holiday home6. Januar 2022
Interhome Group is now offering climate-neutral holidays in its holiday rental properties. Guests booking accommodation through the Swiss holiday home provider now have the option of offsetting the carbon footprint resulting from their stay in a holiday home or apartment.
Hotelplan Group concentrates white label tour operating at vtours10. November 2021
In future, Hotelplan Group will provide its white label tour operating activities through vtours, the German tour operator belonging to the group. The group subsidiary bedfinder will be closed down as part of this process.
