As of today, 1 November 2013, Migros subsidiary Hotelplan Group owns 100% of Inter Chalet Ferienhaus-Gesellschaft mbH, headquartered in Freiburg im Breisgau. The acquisition strengthens the position of the leading vacation home provider together with Interhome.

Hotelplan Group is pleased to announce that Inter Chalet - Germany's leading specialist provider of vacation rental homes - is now owned in full by the internationally active travel company. This gives Hotelplan Group an even stronger presence in the vacation rental home sector.

Michael Heines, who founded Inter Chalet in 1974, will support and assist Hotelplan Group for a further two years as a member of the Inter Chalet management board. The management board's new spokesperson, Jytte Kolbe-Toft, most recently CFO at Inter Chalet, has been working at the company for 25 years. She reports with immediate effect to Thomas Stirnimann, CEO Hotelplan Group.

"We shall intentionally run Interhome and Inter Chalet in a parallel manner within Hotelplan Group, while exploiting the synergies in order to consolidate our position as the European market leader in the vacation rental market," says Thomas Stirnimann, CEO Hotelplan Group.

Inter Chalet and Interhome manage and market some 50'000 vacation properties. With a joint workforce of more than 500 personnel, they generate an annual turnover of around EUR 300 million.
