Laura Meyer (39) has been appointed as new CEO of Hotelplan Group. As a member of the Board of Directors of Hotelplan Group, she already has excellent knowledge of the travel company and brings with her extensive digital and entrepreneurial experience for the future of Hotelplan Group. Laura Meyer will succeed Thomas Stirnimann (58), who has successfully managed the corporate group over the last eight years and has now been appointed to the Board of Directors, at the beginning of 2021.

As of January 1, 2021, Laura Meyer will take over from Thomas Stirnimann as CEO of Hotelplan Group. "I am delighted to have found an ideal candidate for the position of CEO of Hotelplan Group. Laura Meyer has distinct digital and entrepreneurial expertise combined with international experience," says Fabrice Zumbrunnen, President of the General Directorate of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hotelplan Group. "Owing to the serious consequences of COVID-19, the travel industry is undergoing unparalleled structural change toward digitalization. I have every confidence that thanks to her background experience in this area, Laura Meyer will provide important fresh impetus for the future of Hotelplan Group that is geared to the needs of customers," explains Fabrice Zumbrunnen.

In addition, Laura Meyer is already very well acquainted with Hotelplan Group and the travel business as she has been a member of the Hotelplan Group Board of Directors since 2018. The 39-year-old holds a Master of Law from the University of Zurich and a Master in Business Administration INSEAD. She has most recently been employed since 2015 as an Executive and later as Managing Director and Head of Digital Distribution & Analytics at UBS Switzerland AG.

Thomas Stirnimann has managed Hotelplan Group since November 2012 and successfully developed the travel company further over the last eight years despite constant new challenges in the tourism business. "Under his management, Hotelplan Group with its various business units has not only moved closer to its discerning travel customers, but has also remained on track for operational success despite strong competition and the setback brought about by the impact of COVID-19," says Fabrice Zumbrunnen. "I would like to extend my warmest thanks to him for his long-standing and tireless commitment and am delighted that Hotelplan Group can continue to count on the comprehensive sector experience of Thomas Stirnimann." Thomas Stirnimann will continue to manage Hotelplan Group prior to the change of CEO at the end of the year that has been planned for some time and subsequently join its Board of Directors from January 1, 2021.
