Minority Shareholding on the Group Worldspan AG
On 1st November 2009, M-Travel Switzerland will be taking over a minority shareholding in the company Group Worldspan AG which operates in the Events, Incoming and Incentive areas. The event agency is the most famous one in the area of Zurich. In this way, M-Travel Switzerland is covering one further promising niche in the customer portfolio.
Group Worldspan AG, a successful agency, offers both services in the area of its core competency Incoming (Destination Management) as well as everything to do with conception and advisory services over organisation and execution through to success analysis of events and attractive incentive trips. With a turnover of about CHF 10 million, Group Worldspan AG currently develops experience and results-oriented live-communication projects for customer acquisition, customer retention or employee motivation. The 12 co-workers offer customers huge know-how in the area of Destination Management (Incoming), Strategy Development, Dialogue Marketing, Event Marketing or Incentive Travel.
Thus M-Travel Switzerland, as a tour operator with the six brands Denner Reisen, Migros Ferien, Hotelplan, Tourisme Pour Tous, Travelhouse and Globus Reisen as well as with bta First Travel AG, will profit from the network and the range of services it gains access through this new financial investment into the Group Worldspan AG.
"We are very happy to have been invited by Group Worldspan AG to take a minority shareholding in their company", declared Thomas Stirnimann, CEO of M-Travel Switzerland. "This new constellation creates a networked and experienced management for Group Worldspan AG, not least also in combination with a huge network connecting us to service providers. This is the way that we, as a tour operator, can also approach customers in the Special Interest area."
Apart from M-Travel Switzerland, which is the largest minority shareholder, and Andreas Messerli AG, there are also the two private persons Hans-Jürg Rufener and Miroslav Bauer who are also shareholders of Group Worldspan AG.
