Torge Petersen to head Volume Tour Operating at Hotelplan Group
Torge Petersen will assume responsibility for Hotelplan Group's beach holiday and city break division as well as holidays for which customers organise their own travel to the destination on 1 July 2023, taking over from Katja Altmann, who has headed the division on an interim basis since September 2022.
As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Torge Petersen will be heading Hotelplan Group's Volume Tour Operating division from 1 July 2023. He will thus assume responsibility for the beach holiday and city break activities as well as holidays for which customers organise their own travel to the destination of the Hotelplan, Migros Ferien and vtours brands, as well as the flight brokerage business in Switzerland and Germany. In his new role, Torge Petersen becomes a member of the management board of Hotelplan Group, reporting directly to Hotelplan Group CEO Laura Meyer.
Fifty-one-year-old Torge Petersen can look back on a long career in the tourism industry. Among other positions, he worked at vtours from 2010 to 2016; first as Head of Product Management, Marketing and Sales, and from 2012 as Director Product Management & Sales, which gave him overall responsibility for the hotel, flight and transfer product of the dynamic tour operator. Torge Petersen is presently the managing director of e-domizil. "His many years' experience in the tourism trade make Torge Petersen the ideal successor for this position. I am confident that his extensive knowledge will allow him to successfully continue to drive forward our beach holiday and city break activities as well as holidays for which customers organise their own travel to the destination. I would already like to wish him a great start and every success in his role," says Laura Meyer.
Torge Petersen succeeds Katja Altmann, who has headed Volume Tour Operating on an interim basis since Tim Bachmann fell ill in September 2022. She will now be working for Volume Tour Operating in Services & Processes. "On behalf of the entire group management board, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Katja Altmann for her flexibility and great commitment in recent months. We are delighted that she will remain with the company and continue to share her expertise and experience. We wish her continued success and satisfaction in her work," says Laura Meyer.
Additionally, Meltem Aydin will be taking the role of Director of Contracting & Sourcing for central purchasing in Volume Tour Operating at Hotelplan Group on 1 June 2023. For over 13 years, the 39-year-old held various posts at FTI Touristik, among others as Head of Business Development and as Head of Flight Department. She has been in charge of procurement at HC Touristik since 2019. "Several years of experience in flight and hotel services purchasing in the beach holiday sector make her the ideal person to fill this role. We would already like to wish her a successful start at our company," says Laura Meyer.
