Interhome Group is now offering climate-neutral holidays in its holiday rental properties. Guests booking accommodation through the Swiss holiday home provider now have the option of offsetting the carbon footprint resulting from their stay in a holiday home or apartment.

The Swiss holiday home provider Interhome Group is giving its customers the opportunity to make a contribution towards climate protection. From now on, guests will be able to offset the carbon footprint resulting from their stay in a holiday home or apartment. The offset rate per accommodation is between CHF 1.60 and CHF 2.40 per night, depending on the country. "We care about sustainability and consider it our duty to pass on an intact environment to future generations. For this reason, we have decided to integrate carbon offsetting into the booking process. The carbon offset contribution is of course voluntary," explains Interhome Group CEO Jörg Herrmann. The entire proceeds will go to the climate fund of the Migros Group, which supports national and international climate protection projects within the Migros value chain.

In addition, Interhome Group will be giving financial support to a bee conservation project. Starting in February 2022, the company has pledged to pay CHF 1.00 to the organisation Beesark for every new booking. Each new booking means that 2.5 metres of bee meadow will be planted in Austria. "With both the carbon offset and the bee conservation project, we are committing an important contribution to climate protection and hope that many of our customers will join us – for the benefit of nature and the future of our children and grandchildren," says Jörg Herrmann.
