Hotelplan Group commits to sustainability
Hotelplan Group is committed to stepping up its efforts in sustainability in future. To this end, the company has signed the “Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism”.
The Swiss travel enterprise Hotelplan Group, its subsidiaries and their travel brands intend to strengthen their commitment to sustainable tourism. To achieve this, Hotelplan Group has become a signatory to the “Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism”, which calls for cutting greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030 and reaching net zero emissions as soon as possible before 2050. The measures to achieve these goals will be refined in the coming months. Hotelplan Group has also committed to being a carbon neutral company from 2022 onwards, by offsetting any unmitigated, direct greenhouse gas emissions that have not yet been reduced.
“Travel depends on intact nature and a stable socioeconomic system. We see it as our duty to manifest our commitment to sustainable travel by signing the Glasgow Declaration. We want to enhance our customers’ quality of life by creating outstanding travel experiences and a stronger focus on sustainability. We are convinced that, together as an industry, we can fulfil travel dreams in a responsible manner,” says Hotelplan Group CEO Laura Meyer.
