New HR Director at Hotelplan Group
Walter Jung has been appointed to lead Human Resources at Hotelplan Group. He assumes his new post on 1 November 2020, succeeding Lukas Zurkinden, Director Human Resources & Facilities at Hotelplan Group.
Human Resources & Facilities at Hotelplan Group will be headed by Walter Jung from 1 November 2020. The 51-year-old trained commercial specialist has worked as Head of Talent Management & Recruiting at the Migros Cooperative Zurich for the last seven years. Prior to this, he worked for a corporate consultancy specialising in human capital management and as a project manager for management and payroll systems at the Federation of Migros Cooperatives. Walter Jung holds master's degrees in HR Leadership and Organisational Consultancy. He will join the management team of Hotelplan Suisse, reporting directly to COO Daniel Bühlmann. "I am delighted that we have been able to appoint in Walter Jung a proven expert to this post. We look forward to welcoming him to Hotelplan Group and wish him much fulfilment and success in his new role," says Hotelplan Group CEO Thomas Stirnimann.
Following the induction of his successor, the present incumbent Lukas Zurkinden will head the Retail sector of Human Resources in an interim capacity from 1 January 2021 until a replacement has been appointed, before leaving the company at his own request in the course of next year. He will thus temporarily replace Rita Braunschweiger, who joined Hotelplan Suisse in 2008 as Travelhouse Head of HR and takes retirement on 1 January 2021. Retail encompasses the tour operator's branches as well as the units Tourisme pour Tous and bta first Travel.
"On behalf of the entire management at Hotelplan Group, I would already like to take the opportunity to thank Lukas Zurkinden for his strong commitment over the past 18 years. His duties have included drawing up the collective travel labour agreement at Hotelplan Group and merging the Travelhouse and Hotelplan pension funds. We also thank Rita Braunschweiger for all her work over the years and extend to her our warmest wishes for the future," says Thomas Stirnimann.
